Cool Blues @ Salon vim

Gone with the Blues this summer

In an attempt to salvage my hair, my cousins recommended Salon Vim. It being pretty popular, I've heard about it a couple of times but never really got to try it. Over some talks about hair, the cousins decided to have a hair date and so I got my hair did! (Fabulous hair flips)

We made an appointment under Sham. He's really good with advising what is good for your hair and the amount of languages he can speak - really damn zai (pro) also, he's super gentle with your hair (none of that tugging and pulling- which is awesome because I already have close to none to pull). I really had no idea how to salvage my hair, which was dry and bleached in patches. Even though I was skeptical and afraid I couldn't pull it off, I think it turned out really great and I'm glad I left my hair in his hands. He recommended that I dye my hair in cool tones and I love it. It's a mix of blue, turquoise and grey - which is so much more interesting and dimensional than just having it in one flat colour. Now my hair is no longer patchy and the blue will kill the yellow from the bleach. Yay because it's not going to fade and leave my hair looking like Maggi Mee. I also did a treatment for my hair and it hasn't felt so gloriously smooth in a really long while (yep, all that bleaching ain't good yo). But no pain no gain right? ;)

Getting the blue in there (I was honestly quite scared about how it would turn out)

bouncy curls that felt air light (so great to beat the heat)
us with fab hair

I don't have silky soft tresses, but here's how I manage my hair:

1. Shampoo and wash with warm water and conditioner wash with cold water
2. When my hair starts to feel like hay, I use hair mask in place of conditioner and let it sit while I do other stuff (like wash my face, brush my teeth)
3. I use The Body Shop's Bilberry colour protect detangler spray and Tangle Teezer comb (start from the bottom and work your way to the top so your hair doesn't get pulled out as much)
4. Apply leave in conditioner. I use Aveda's colour protect serum after baths and Moroccan oil on top of it if it's still dry.
5. Let your stylist know not to use the thinning scissors (the ones with the comb edge on one side) when getting a hair cut because I find that its really bad on the ends of your hair
6. Leave it to dry naturally (avoid the heat from hair dryers and hair styling tools as much as possible)
7. Aloe Vera gel or organic coconut oil works great for fine or thinning hair (natural but long-term)
8. Tie up your hair when the wind is really strong to prevent split ends
9. But don't tie it too tight
10. Snack on superfoods for hair (tomatoes, blueberries, walnuts)

X, Amelia
